It is extremely tasty and is quiet easy to cook too.

Today I will share with you the most common way of cooking chicken in Indian style.

Chicken: 500 gram
Onion: 300 gram
Garlic paste: 2 and a half table spoon
Garlic Cloves: 3-4 cloves
Ginger: 5-6 table spoon
Bay leaves: 5-6
Cumin paste: 1 tea spoon
Tomato: 3 to 4 finely chopped
Mustard Oil
Yoghurt: 3 to 4 table spoon
Red chili powder: 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder: 2-3 table spoon
Salt as per taste
Green Chilies (slit) – 5 to 6
Potatoes (Boiled, Halved and slightly fried)
Cardamom and cinnamon paste.

The first step is to wash the chicken very well under running water and drain the water.

The next step is to marinate the chicken with the above mentioned ingredients. In order to marinate you will require Onion paste almost 200 grams, the ginger and garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, cumin paste, 4 to 5 table spoon of mustard oil, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt as per your taste. Mix the chicken very well with all these ingredients.

Leave it for some time and allow the spices to get absorbed into the chicken. Now refrigerate it for a period of minimum three to four hours. It is best if you can leave it over ni8ght in the fridge. However, that is not always possible.

You should make a paste of two third of the onion you take and chop the rest. Deep fry the chopped onions unless they are golden brown and take them out.

Now its time for the real process. Heat the mustard oil in a pan, well. Put the bay leaves and the garlic cloves once the oil is hot, sauté them and put the marinated chicken in it. Cook it well on high flames initially and then lower the flame and cover the pan and let it cook slowly.

Now once it is done, add the boiled and fried potatoes to it and let it cook. Now add the fried onions, green chilies and the cinnamon and cardamom paste and let it cook for around five minutes.

Give it a standing time of around ten minutes and your chicken is ready to be served.
