Certain foods are often associated with migraine attacks. Foods containing amino acid tyramine, such as red wine, aged cheese, smoked fish, chicken livers, figs, beans, should be avoided. Chocolates, nuts, peanut butter, avocado, banana, citrus fruits, onions, baked food and dairy products should not be consumed by people suffering from migraine. The nitrate content of processed meat has been found to trigger migraines. Monosodium glutamate is also considered responsible for migraine attacks. Foods that are processed, fermented, pickled or even marinated might produce complications. Caffeine and alcohol should also be avoided by migraine sufferers.

Conditions to be avoided
