Gourmet Vegetable Pizza - Gourmet Pizza Dough and Sauce - How to Make a Gourmet Pizza - Vegetable Pizza Recipe | Tips on - Find Tips Everybody loves Pizza, be it a child or an adult. What if you can prepare it at home and surprise everybody. So, here is a simple recipe to make pizza at home.

Preparation time: 30 minutes, total cooking time: 1 hour and 10 minutes, serves: 6

To Make Pizza Dough:

20 g (1/3 cup) fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons polenta or cornmeal
1 teaspoon dried yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
185g (1.5 cups) plain all-purpose flour
125ml (1/2 cup) warm water
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil


60g button mushrooms
100g fresh baby corn
225 g grated mozzarella cheese
50g spinach leaves
1 small red capsicum (cut)
2 tablespoons pine nuts

1. Combine yeast, sugar and 2 tablespoons of the flour in a small mixing bowl.

2. Gradually add the water; blend until smooth. Stand, covered with plastic wrap and keep in a warm place until foamy about 10 minutes.

3. Sift the remaining flour into a large mixing bowl. Add salt and basil, and make a well in the center. Add the yeast mixture and oil, mix to soft dough.

4. Knead for 10 minutes and place into a large, slightly oiled bowl. Cover with a plastic wrap and keep in a warm place until well risen.

To Make Tomato Sauce:

1 tablespoon oil
1 small red onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 large tomato, finely chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
½ teaspoon dried oregano

1. Heat oil in a pan, add onion, garlic and cook over a medium heat for 3 minutes.

2. Add tomato and reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes.

3. Add tomato paste and oregano; cook for 3 minutes.

To Bake Pizza

1. Preheat oven to 210 degree C (415 degree F).

2. Knead the dough again for 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface.

3. Prepare a pizza tray by brushing oil and sprinkle cornmeal.

4. Roll out the dough to fit on the tray.

5. Spread the sauce on the pizza base, arrange the mushrooms and corn evenly on the top.

6. Sprinkle over half of the cheese, top with spinach, capsicum and remaining cheese.

7. Sprinkle with pine nuts. Bake for 40 minutes or until the crust is golden. Serve the pizza immediately.
