Plan your trip

If you want to have least problems on the way, carefully plan your trip. Pack your luggage at least a day before the trip. Bring enough water, food and clothes. You might need money on the way to buy yourself food and fuel for your car. When you plan your trip avail a map of the route you will take and get adequate information about the gas stations and eateries on the way, so that you do not have to search for food or fuel on the route.

The health of your car is of utmost importance when you are going on a long drive. Before beginning your journey, check your car thoroughly. Check the tires and do not forget to bring spare tires in good conditions, because you don’t want to be stranded by flat tires. Check the brakes, steering and car engine. See that the lights of your car are working properly. See that the tank is full. A tank that is half filled with gas might create problem, especially if there are few gas stations on the way.

Have Rest

Don’t drive continuously and stop occasionally. You as well as your car need some rest. It would be better if you are accompanied by another person who is a good driver, so that both of you take turns in driving. Stop at least after every 5 hours. Although the other passengers might entertain themselves with music or by watching TV, but while driving, you should concentrate only on your driving.
