Have you ever thought about an indoor garden, if not let me say how important they are in your life. Plants absorb carbon dioxide from the air and emit oxygen, our life. They are scavenging our environment. They are trying to reduce the pollution that we are creating. Plants will turn the negative energy inside your home to positive. Practically it is very easy to start an indoor garden.

Tips to Indoor Garden

1. Spot Selection

Select spots in your house that have enough sun light. Plants need light for photosynthesis. It must get consistent sun light.

2. Plant Selection

Be careful to choose a healthy plant as well as plants that need medium to low sun light. Ensure that the plant will suit to the environment you have. Avoid plants that are allergic. Choose plants depending on the display you preferred and that are easy to care. Some of the indoor plants are snake plant, spider plant, bromeliad, dragon trees, aspidistra, cyperus, philodendron etc

3. Container

Wood, Copper, Ceramics, Plastic, Fiberglass, Brass, Aluminum or other materials can be considered for a pot. It should be clean and must have holes to drain excess water. Fill the pot after keeping the plant with potting soils up to 2/3rd the height. It must have enough space for watering and ferlization.

4. Light

Plants will move towards light as light is essential for their growth. It is necessary to turn the plants frequently to maintain the shape and proportion. If necessary provide them with artificial light.

5. Watering

Provide enough water to make the soil wet. Avoid over watering as it causes damage to the roots and finally kill the plant. Use room temperature water for watering the plants.

6. Fertilizer

Be careful while fertilizing your indoor plants. They need a little fertilizer when compared to the out door plants. You can use liquid fertilizers as it can be sprayed along with watering. Fertilizer sticks are now available to make your task easier.

7. Temperature

Indoor plants must get consistent temperature ie neither colder nor hotter. Usually plants can thrive between a temperature of 65-75o F at day time and 10-15 o F at night. Slight changes are acceptable.

8. Humidity

Plants require ample humidity to flourish. If humidity is less then the leaves may get dried. You can spray water on the leaves in morning hours to stabilize this problem. Even a humidifier can be used

Indoor plants have to be kept outside occasionally as it helps the plant to boost. Regular dusting will make your plant shine.
