Migraine can aggravate from foods like chocolates, cheese and red wine. It is important to note what food can trigger the migraine condition. Other factors like stress, weather, hormonal change and sleeplessness can result in migraine problem.

It is important to visit a doctor as soon as any of these symptoms occur. Migraine can cause a life threatening condition, also known as pre-eclampsia.

Treatment and cure

Medication used to keep migraine under control may not be safe for a pregnant woman. If you suffer from severe headaches, it is recommended to consult a neurologist. You can also reduce the severity of headaches by being more careful and applying natural remedies.

A cold shower shrinks the dilated blood vessels. If you have a sever headache, this method can prove helpful. Use of ice on forehead or back of the neck also keeps the blood vessels in control. A cold therapy though should not be practiced often during pregnancy.

It is important to sleep properly if you suffer from migraine. It is advisable to take rest and lie down if you have a headache. Some women may become light sensitive during migraine. It is important to stay in a dark room until the pain disappears.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol in pregnancy. Caffeine can cause insomnia. Consumption of fluids other than these proves to be helpful during pregnancy.

Massaging your temples and nasal bridge sometimes gives relief from migraine. Yoga, acupuncture and reflexology can provide relief from migraines.
