However, nature might not make us perfect in all respects. You might find that your nose appears a bit crooked, too long, too fat or too much curved. A nose job by an expert plastic surgeon might produce the nose of your choice. But a large number of awkward nose surgeries, especially the failed attempts by popular celebrities like Michael Jackson, Bruce Jenner or Kenny Rogers to shape their nose, might raise a few questions about the efficacy of a nose job. Therefore, before going for a nose job you should know about the different types of nose jobs.

The plastic surgery of the nose is known as Rhinoplasty. Despite its popularity, Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult procedure of cosmetic or plastic surgery.

Reasons for Rhinoplasty
The common reasons for resorting to this form of corrective surgery are to eliminate any breathing problem produced by any constriction in the nose or for aesthetic reasons to enhance the general appearance of the person.

Types of Rhinoplasty

Closed Rhinoplasty
For minor nose jobs, closed Rhinoplasty is the preferred technique. A minor incision is made inside the nose and an instrument is inserted to separate the skin from the bone and cartilage of the nose. The bone and cartilage is then removed and redesigned to give the desired shape to the nose. After the reshaping is complete, the structure is covered with the skin. The original incision is finally closed giving the nose a new look.

Open Rhinoplasty
This technique is followed in complicated nose jobs. Instead of making an incision within the nose as in closed Rhinoplasty, in open Rhinoplasty incisions are made in the vertical layer of skin between the nostrils. After finishing the task and closing the incisions, some bulbous materials are put inside the nostrils to support the structure. Externally a splint is attached to the nose for a number of days to help the nose retain its new structure and for speedy recovery of the nose.
